In Terrace,BC

Rainy today but was warm and sunny yesterday. Of course I didn't take pictures yesterday of the wonderful surroundings that our Host and Hostess have as their home.We had a lovely time in Smithers, our hosts were most generous and made us feel so welcome . They didn't let us lift a finger to look after ourselves. They have two amazing Dachshound "teenagers" I call them that as that was how they behaved! They were very entertaining to watch as they were constantly running around with the same toy in both their mouths!  There also three horses and a bunch of chickens. When we arrived there were two cats but they took an old crippled one to the vet for it's last journey.

We're in Smithers!

Arrived here at 5pm. Staying at the Hudson Bay Lodge right at the edge of the city. Just finished a wonderful salmon dinner and 1/2 litre good wine Our potential hosts were not  returning to Smithers until 9pm tonight so we took a room. Much nicer than last nights' fiasco!It was a motel in Prince George and was a noisy, dirty place with amazingly hard beds!
The scenery as we moved toward Smithers has been beautiful and awe inspiring. Poor Hubby is desperately seeking the much advertised Moose but nothing so far. Lots of warning signs for them but have only seen various deer and a grouse family crossing the road causing us to swerve to avoid them.

Leaving Edmonton.

We will be heading toward BC tomorrow. We'll be sad to leave as we have had a wonderful rest full time here. Good family times, good food and excellent Tequila tonight. We have shopped, shoes,GPS for the truck,clothes and an iron!!!Found out our fence is finished back home.

We've arrived in Edmonton!

The concert was AMAZING!!! The River Rock Casino hotel was AMAZING!!! The driving has been amazing too great weather, empty roads. Coming through Jasper we saw a black bear, a couple of elk and a couple of mountain sheep. Arrived in Edmonton late afternoon today, will stay here till about Saturday.

Day One-Brentwood Bay to Vancouver

After taking the cats to to kennels we came home and packed our belongings in various suitcases and cloth grocery bags.This proved problematic when we partook of valet service at the River Rock Hotel!!
We had hardly any wait at the ferry and caught the 12:00 with lots of room.Found the hotel in a backward manner and made it to our room.Everything power wise is controlled by one of our room keys!!
Unpacked our clothes then headed to the casino for a bite to eat and drink. We each played $20 on slots. Hubby lost but I won $46 so we paid for our betting and one of the drinks we had to celebrate. We are back at the hotel room now. Hubby is napping. We will then head for the Skytrain,which runs right beside the hotel, and head for BC Place to watch Roger Watters "The Wall" Will check in tomorrow evening, either in Valemont or Black Creek.
